World Day of Prayer and Action for children marked by prayers in Pakistan

An inspiring event was put together by activists in Pakistan on November 19, 2010, to celebrate the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children. More than 165 children and 15 adults were the enthousiastic participants of one of the most important events that marked the activism zone for children in Pakistan.
It was an impressive gathering where children, belonging to different religions and beliefs – there where Muslims and Christians – learnt to pray together for their lives and their future: they prayed for safe environment, for equal chances and opportunities, for health and education, and most of all, for peace and harmony.
The principal of St. Mary’s School highlighted the issues that children of Pakistan need to face on a daily basis and made some recommendations on overcoming these problems, essentially by helping one another and being constantly aware of the other’s presence, freedom and spirituality.
