Together for Displaced People

Stories of people affected by war and conflicts are disheartening. Such stories give a glimpse of the suffering and inhumane conditions that are a new reality for the affected. Sadly, the Congolese who were affected by the M23 war are an example.

To help alleviate their situation even if by just a little, GNRC Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R.C) in partnership with Organization Des Juenes Chretiens En Afrique Pour Le Development (OJCAD) organized an event on 10th March 2023. The event themed ‘Nami ni Mtoto nina haki ya Amani’ (I am a child and I have the right to live in peace) aimed to assist displaced children at the Musawato site. This was due to the inhumane conditions the families were/are living in, with limited access to food, forcing them to send their children to the streets to beg.

GNRC D.R.C collected donations from people of goodwill with which they were able to provide 32 families with children between the ages of 5 -16 years with food, clothes and shoes.
