On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP), GNRC-Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a round table meeting for faith leaders, art exhibitors, parents, teachers, youth and children to discuss ways in which they can end poverty in their country and protect children against violence. A total of eighty participants attended the event.
Inspirational talks were given by: FR Josip Ikić, Prof. Midhat Čakalović and GNRC Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Ismeta Begic. Among the topics discussed in the round table meeting included: – the context of poverty, relationship between poverty and violence and the role of community stakeholders in ending poverty. Participants also took part in an art competition relevant to ending child poverty.
At the end of the meeting Ms. Ismeta Begic, informed participants about the upcoming GNRC 5th Forum whose main theme targets to end violence against children globally.
