GNRC Member in U.S. Holds Learning to Live Together Course for Refugees

Catholic Charities of Idaho, a GNRC member in the United States, provided a weekly intercultural, interfaith ethics education group for refugee girls ages 16-18.  The group was held at CCI’s Boise Family Strengthening Center from March – May 2013, and it used Arigatou International’s Learning to Live Together curriculum.  The participants emigrated to the U.S. from three different African countries, Burundi, Congo, and Somalia.  Participants practice Muslim or Christian faiths.

The group was facilitated by Kumi Takashima. Ms. Takashima completed her final semester of the graduate counselor education program at Boise State University in May 2013.
