Global Partnership to Ending Violence Against Children

GNRC Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Y. Ali, participated in the meeting of the Interim Advisory Board of the Global Partnership to Ending Violence Against Children in New York on 18th and 19th April, 2016. The partnership meeting took place at UNICEF Headquarters, and was co-chaired by UNICEF and World Health Organization (WHO). The Governments of Sweden, United Kingdom, Mexico and others also participated in the Partnership meeting.

The composition of new Board and Executive Committee of the Partnership, the road-map to its launch and the Solutions Summit slated for 2017 were among the issues discussed at the New York meeting. Others were: the mission, vision and objectives of the Partnership, as well as the guiding principles.

Global Partnership to Ending Violence Against Children is a new partnership envisaged to increase momentum in addressing rampant violence against children globally. Arigatou International was invited to serve at its Interim Advisory Board. The last meeting took place in Geneva, and was hosted by WHO.

Arigatou International joined other organizations including UNICEF, WHO, Faith –based organizations, Governments, Foundations and Civil Society Organizations to encourage efforts to addressing violence against children world-wide.
