GNRC Secretary General Presents on Religion, Violence and Extremism at the United Nations Headquarters, New York

The GNRC Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Y. Ali participated in and made a presentation on the thematic areas of Religion, Violence and Extremism on 1st February 2016, at the 2nd Symposium on the Role of Religions in International Affairs, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA.

He participated in the panel on Multi-religious perspectives on violence in the name of religion: Role of Religion in Countering Violence and Extremism. The symposium was co-organized by the World Council of Churches and co-sponsored by the United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force for Engagement with Faith-based Organizations.

Other presenters at the Symposium included; Mr. Antti Pentikainen, Convener and Executive Director of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers (NRTP), Mr. Jehangir Khan, Director of the Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force Office, UN Department of Political Affairs, Prof. Dr. John L. Esposito, Professor of Religion & International Affairs and of Islamic Studies, Georgetown University, Dr. Azza Karam, Advisor on Culture at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) among others.
