Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, Board Meeting

The Secretary General participated in a board meeting of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children on 19th September 2017 in New York, United States of America. Chaired by the Executive Director for UNICEF, Mr. Anthony Lake, the board discussed the concept for the upcoming Solutions Summit, which is to be held in February 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden. The board also discussed possible ways to build partnerships with global companies and organizations so as to help in ending violence against children.

In his presentation, Dr. Mustafa Y. Ali highlighted the Ten Commitments as contained in the Panama Declaration on Ending Violence Against Children agreed to, and committed by the GNRC 5th Forum Participants. He said that GNRC 5th Forum provided a picture, and demonstrated what the organization is doing to end violence against children.

Dr. Ali further remarked that GNRC needs to re-double its efforts, and exert more focus on the implementation of the ‘Ten Commitments’ as agreed to by members and Forum participants at the forum. The board appreciated the work already done by GNRC in ending violence against children and for mobilizing the faith communities in Panama.
