GNRC members in Kenya led by the Arigatou International Advisory Group Member, Sh. Ibrahim Lethome, and the GNRC Secretary General, Dr. Mustafa Y. Ali, joined other GNRC members across the world in commemorating the Day of Prayer and Action for Children (DPAC) on 24th November 2018 in Kibra, Nairobi, Kenya. About one hundred and sixteen (116) participants including 75 children and youth and 41 parents and caregivers attended the event under the theme, “Protecting Children from Abuse and Exploitation.” The event aimed to sensitize the young on various forms of child abuse and exploitation.

Arigatou International led by the President of Arigatou International, Rev. Keishi Miyamoto, joined other global leaders across the world in advocating for a world free of online child violence during the Interfaith Alliance Forum for Safer Communities forum that took place from 19th – 20th November 2018 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E).

Arigatou Interantional to Participate in the Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities Forum

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) Armed Forces, the U.A.E will host the first edition of the Interfaith Alliance For Safer Communities Forum on 19th – 20th November 2018 in recognition of the country’s leading role in promoting tolerance and interfaith dialogue.

The President of Egypt, H.E. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, joined five thousand (5,000) participants from across the world including youth, faith leaders, and representatives of governments, representing 160 nations during the second World Youth Forum in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt from 3rd – 6th November 2018. The President of the State of Palestine, H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, and the Governor of Makkah, Prince Khalid bin Faisal Al Saud, also attended the opening ceremony. In his speech, H.E. Al Sisi argued for the need to create a world of “hope, beauty, and humanity, without conflict, poverty, ignorance and illness,” and to help young innovators realize their dreams. President Al Sisi called for a full and unreserved condemnation of the crimes committed by Daesh, and all the other extremist organizations in the world.

I am honoured to be with you today here in Sharm el Sheikh for the second edition of the World Youth Forum. This Youth Forum comes at a time when the world is undergoing significant changes and challenges. Changes that are largely positive in the world, with significant scientific development, trading and globalization. But it also comes at a time when significant challenges have surfaced – Challenges that are threatening the peace and in some cases, the very stability and our existence in this world.

The world’s religious communities and spiritual leaders together with representatives from international and grassroots organizations and the Government of Italy met on 16th – 19th October 2018 under the aegis of the Faith Action for Children on the Move Global Partners Forum in Rome, Italy, to discuss, reflect and contribute to addressing violence against children on the move. Children on the move include all children who have migrated or been forcibly displaced across borders (refugees) or within the borders of their own countries (internally displaced).
