The GNRC Europe, Arigatou International and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) are offering an International Basic Training Course designed to help educators and young adults working with children and young people on how to use the Learning to Live Together Manual. This course draws on experience gained in earlier testing workshops, and on the contributions of the professional experts involved. The purpose of the Basic Training Course is to build the capacity of educators, young adults, facilitators, or whomever will be using the LTLT manual in their work with children and young people. Their role as facilitators of the LTLT manual training will ultimately contribute to achieving quality education for all children worldwide.
WHO THE COURSE IS ADDRESSED TO
This course is addressed to educators, school teachers, university professors, graduate students, youth leaders, community/social workers, religious leaders and any other person who want to use the Learning to Live Together Manual at local, national or regional level.
Particular consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate a real possibility to use the Manual with their own constituency and are in a position to significantly disseminate and promote the use of the Manual within their context as a tool to develop an intercultural and interfaith programme for ethics education for children.
Applicants may come from fields of expertise related to ethics, values and quality education, interfaith and intercultural dialogue/learning, peace building and conflict resolution, youth participation/empowerment, children’s rights, human rights and related fields; and be working with a diverse range of constituencies, from children and young people themselves to youth leaders, teachers and professors, work colleagues, religious leaders, and the community.

Dates: This is a residential course that will run over 4 full days, starting on the morning of 26 July 2011 and finishing on the afternoon of 29 July before dinner.
Venue: UNESCO at 7, Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris (metro: Line 6 – Cambronne or Line 10 – Ségur)
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation and boarding will be provided by GNRC Europe. Lunch and breaks will be given at the headquarters of UNESCO.
The accommodation (breakfast and dinner inclusive) will be held at the l’Enclos Rey, 57, Violet Street. Seat of the congregation of the Sisters of the Assumption, it is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
ABOUT THE PARTICIPATION
Selected applicants are expected to commit themselves to: Pre-training assignment: To maximise the benefits of the course, selected participants will be asked to complete a short preparatory pre-training assignment. Further details will be given to selected participants. Full-time participation: Participate full-time in all sessions for the whole duration of the course. Therefore, you must be able to participate in the full period of the course for your application to be considered. If a participant finds he/she must leave early or arrive late after acceptance, their place will be given to another person on the waiting list. Costs: All on-site costs related to tuition feeds, accommodation and boarding during the duration of the course are covered by the GNRC Europe. Additional personal expenses are participants’ responsibility. Participants are expected to organise their transport to/from Paris and cover all related costs, including visa and insurances. The GNRC Europe will provide subsidies when a qualified candidate cannot cover his/her travel expenses.
