Sunrise Children\u2019s home in Kabarnet, Baringo County, hosts 42 orphaned, neglected, or sexually abused children of ages between 2 and 16 years. The GNRC Network and Programs Coordinator, Dr. Dorcas Kiplagat, joined 14 churchwomen on May 2, 2017 on a visit to the home. With support from Arigatou International GNRC, the group donated foodstuffs, toiletries and other basic items to the home. The children exuded confidence about the future and sang several songs to entertain the guests.<\/p>\n

The founder of the home Mr. Sang passed on a few years ago, leaving the burden of taking care of the home to his wife who, since then has often been forced to rely on her meager personal resources to feed, clothe and educate the children.<\/p>\n

The current Manager of the orphanage pleaded with the visitors reach out to faithful in their own churches or even friends to support the children with whatever little they can, whether food clothing or even offering to sponsor the education of some of the children since that was the greatest challenge facing the management.<\/p>\n
