The GNRC-Rwanda led by Umbrella for the vulnerable organization conducted a campaign on 8th of October 2016 to create awareness on hygiene and nutrition among children in the community. The campaign dubbed, \u2018the fight against malnutrition,\u2019 reached over 100 orphans and vulnerable children in Rwamagana District.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Children in the area suffer from preventable diseases that sometimes have caused deaths due to the unhygienic conditions. The campaign focused on sanitary measures, healthy consumption of food and body hygiene. Health practitioners were also involved in the awareness campaign.<\/p>\n

Starvation brought about by extreme poverty conditions is also common in the area. At the end of the one-day event, the children shared a meal and left having gained much knowledge on basic hygiene and nutrition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
