On June 28th, GNRC partner \u2018Peaceful Innovation Organization\u2019 (PIO) held an activity with the theme countering violent extremism at the Matopeni Church, Nairobi, in which 30 youths participated.<\/p>\n

The event opened with prayers, after which PIO presented to the youth the organization\u2019s objectives, it\u2019s mission and vision and their programs. \"CRAVE2\"Youth gathered to propose strategies to counter violent extremism at the community level.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The discussion centered on the problems faced by Muslims in Nairobi, their stigmatization by the local authorities and the general population. The root causes of violent extremism were also examined and analyzed by the youths and empowering strategies to counter violence were laid out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
