{"id":3131,"date":"2015-08-04T09:18:21","date_gmt":"2015-08-04T17:18:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gnrc.ziplinestaging.com\/news\/in-the-news\/faith-leaders-statement-on-financing-for-development-in-africa\/"},"modified":"2015-08-04T09:18:21","modified_gmt":"2015-08-04T17:18:21","slug":"faith-leaders-statement-on-financing-for-development-in-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gnrc.net\/?p=3131","title":{"rendered":"Faith Leaders\u2019 Statement on Financing for Development in Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Africa\u2019s faith communities and their faith leaders have been involved in the process shaping the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and the Financing for Development (FfD) framework, as key actors in Africa\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;In a recent interfaith meeting held in Nairobi, in May 2015, the initiative issued a statement \u2018Unlocking Africa\u2019s Resourcefulness\u2019 and affirmed the African Union Common African Position as well as the Agenda 2063, as major frameworks for Africa\u2019s engagement with herself and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n<p>The recently held Interfaith Side Event on Financing for Development (FfD) in Addis Ababa- Ethiopia Further enabled Africa\u2019s faith leaders to bring a moral voice on Africa\u2019s wealth in relation to the development needs of Africa; Provided an opportunity for Africa\u2019s faith leaders to amplify the position of Africa\u2019s Faith Communities on FfD; and, Deeping the understanding of Africa\u2019s Faith Communities of the multiple actors in financing development.
