At 14 years old, Ghaya, a young girl from the United Arab Emirates, delivered a speech that resonated deeply with global leaders, changemakers, and advocates gathered at the GNRC Sixth Forum, which focused on building a safe, secure, and sustainable world for and with children worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Standing before the diverse audience, Ghaya began her address with a heartfelt welcome, calling the UAE a \u201csecond home\u201d for all attendees. She expressed her honor in representing the values of her nation and her passion for building a better future for children everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is a child?\u201d she asked the audience, posing a profound yet simple question. \u201cA child is not just an individual. A child represents the love, dreams, and sacrifices of a family. When we protect a child, we safeguard the foundation of our communities, nations, and shared future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drawing inspiration from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, Ghaya highlighted the nation\u2019s unwavering commitment to its youngest citizens. She quoted Sheikh Zayed\u2019s wisdom: \u201cThe nation\u2019s strength lies in the health and education of its people and its children, who are the real wealth of the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her speech not only celebrated the UAE\u2019s achievements in empowering children but also shed light on the urgent global challenges facing children worldwide. From climate change and violence to lack of access to education and healthcare, she emphasized that these issues go beyond borders and require international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a young person in this country, I\u2019ve seen how the UAE has created opportunities for all children to dream big and build a brighter future,\u201d Ghaya said. \u201cYet, we cannot ignore the challenges that children face today. These are not problems a single country can solve alone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her appeal, Ghaya reminded attendees of their critical role in creating a safer, more secure, and sustainable world. \u201cI stand before you not only as Ghaya but as a voice for countless children around the world who are counting on all of us, including you, to act now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
