One needs to start and learn as they progress.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>&#8211;\u00a0<em>Mr. Adikwu<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Oftentimes, people tend to separate peacebuilding and economic development. This however should not be so. In peacebuilding, it is important to bring in&nbsp;the aspect of economic empowerment as the two complement each other. The attainment of one could accelerate the attainment of the other. To connect the two,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/arigatouinternational.org\/\">Arigatou International\u2019s<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/endingchildpoverty.org\/\">Interfaith Initiative to End Child Poverty (End Child Poverty)<\/a>, in partnership with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kirkensnodhjelp.no\/en\/\">Norwegian Church Aid<\/a>&nbsp;organized the 6<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/endingchildpoverty.org\/youth-in-action-2019-at-a-glance\/\">Youth In Action Forum<\/a>&nbsp;(the second for the new cohorts). Twenty-five youths from five East African countries (Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania) were present at the forum. They participated in the four-day event, from 20<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;to 23<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;May, under the theme&nbsp;<em>Youth Peacebuilding and Economic Empowerment<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rev. Fred Nyabera, Director, End Child Poverty, took the youths through the topic on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB). He lauded the youths for their knowledge on the topic, and their active participation in online discussions on the matter.\u00a0Through interactive sessions\u00a0and\u00a0games, the participants connected the importance of FoRB in peacebuilding and its correlation with economic development.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/gnrc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Main-2--1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gnrc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Main-2--1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gnrc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Main-2--300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gnrc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Main-2--768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gnrc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Main-2--1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/gnrc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Main-2-.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The participants visited the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/endingchildpoverty.org\/children-leading-the-way-in-sustainable-development\/\">SDGs Academy for Children<\/a>, in Limuru, Kenya, hosted by Mr.\u00a0Michael Adikwu, the Sustainable Development Programme Lead at End Child Poverty. While there, they toured Tetu Farm\u00a0(a farm owned by a youth couple). They were an inspiration to the youths as farming in Kenya, is an activity stereotyped for\u00a0<em>older<\/em>\u00a0retired generations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The youths interacted with a team from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecobana.co.ke\/\">EcoBana<\/a>\u00a0whose CEO, Mr. Lennox Omondi, was among the youths participating in the forum.
