Over the last two years GNRC El Salvador\u2019s Ethics Education Program has been implemented through GNRC-member youth groups and other youth beneficiaries of development projects in public schools.<\/p>\n

The interfaith team accompanying this process has formed a 12-youth team andtrained them in the use of the \u201cLearning to Live Together\u201d Manualand they now offer their volunteer services on a weekly basis, working with children and youth.<\/p>\n
The Lutheran Church, with accompaniment by two facilitators, is implementing a program for 30 children in an interfaith context. Different activities from the \u201cLearning to Live Together\u201d Manual are the basis to develop the children\u2019s ethical conscience.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Bartolome de las Casas Center (CBC in Spanish) is coordinating a Zero Violence program, in three public schools in the historic downtown district of San Salvador. The approach is the use of art as an alternative to violence. The Manual\u2019s ethics education activities are implemented in the systematic process. Program facilitators are youth leaders from 3 different GNRC El Salvador faith-based communities: Islam, Lutheran Church and CBC itself. The beneficiaries are 94 students who are trained twice a week in ethics education.<\/p>\n
The Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Community is organizing spiritual training for 11 to 15 year-olds in the Junior Youth Program for spiritual empowerment. The program seeks to develop spiritual and material excellence by forming a group identity and building ties of friendship through acts of service to effect improvement in the community. As a complement to the program\u2019s activities, the Manual has become a valuable resource to aid in achieving groups\u2019 objectives at two groups: the \u201cMiguel Pinto\u201d Public School, which benefits 20 young people and at a four-participant group in a neighborhood.<\/p>\n
