The main topic of this year celebration was to Stop Violence against Children and the focus was on Promoting Positive Parenting. <!--more--><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"> <strong>Day of Action and Prayer for Children &#8211; DPAC<br \/>\n\u201cAll Together to Stop Violence Against Children\u201c<br \/>\nBosnia and Herzegovina<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If we are to teach real peace in this world,<br \/>\nand if we are to carry on a real war against war,<br \/>\nwe shall have to begin with the children.\u201d<br \/>\n(Mohandas Ghandi)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><strong>Celebration at the Children\u2019s Square in Sarajevo!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The celebration took place in the main city square \u201cTrg djece Sarajeva\u201c(Sarajevo children square). The participants were coming from different faiths and organizations. Several members of \u201cAll Together Youth\u201d, GNRC Bosnia-Herzegovina, actors from the \u201cConfero\u201d theater group, make-up artists and more than 50 children; took part in this whole day celebration. The young people and children interacted with the general public that engaged enthusiastically with the activities they were implementing.&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/i-images\/280\/210\/mm\/image\/DSCN5387%281%29.JPG\" style=\"width: 253px; height: 190px; margin: 5px; float: left;\"><\/p>\n<p>The celebration started in the main square with an opening performed by the \u2018Confero\u2019 theater group. The performance focused on the importance of promoting peace from a perspective of abused children and also to send peaceful messages insisting on the DPAC theme \u2018Stopping Violence against Children\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">Peaceful Messages at the \u201cPeace Wall\u201d!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peaceful messages written by religious leaders were shared with a special focus the importance of joining efforts from religious communities to stop violence against children. The climax of the event was the \u2018Peace Wall\u2019. It consisted of a special moment when children and adults would gather and write peaceful message on a big wall. Flyers were distributed in order to promote positive parenting. Information was given to the parents describing the different kind of violence, and the need to stop it.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/i-images\/270\/360\/mm\/image\/DSCN5560.JPG\" style=\"width: 240px; height: 320px; margin: 20px 5px; float: right;\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">The Learning to Live Together at the DPAC Celebration!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A workshop for children was held and allowed children to draw, make origami, meet with children from other faiths, act in role play and learn in an artistic way about the different kind of violence and the ways to stop it. The Learning to Live Together manual was used as a methodology to organize and facilitate the workshop.
