Florence Omtokoh – Executive Secretary

Florence Omtokoh is the Executive Secretary at Arigatou International – Nairobi. She previously worked for Shelter Afrique; a pan African housing financing institution based in Nairobi. She has also worked at the African Council of Religious Leaders-Religions for Peace (ACRL-RfP) serving in various capacities in administration, programs and the Secretary General’s office.

Ms. Omtokoh has a strong background in Office Administration and management. Having previously worked as a Research Assistant, Program Assistant, Youth Coordinator, Executive Secretary and Bilingual Administrative Assistant, Ms. Omtokoh has a creative and rich mix and understanding of program and administrative work in the Corporate and NGO World and particularly within the interfaith circles.

Ms. Omtokoh believes that no children should be victims of suffering as a result of the selfish actions of adults. Children are her best company. She enjoys their honesty, very inquisitive minds, and sincerity of heart and actions. During her pastime, she volunteers at children homes and visiting children in approved schools just to be with them, play with them, teach them and show them that they are children like any other and reassure them they have a bright future and that their current conditions do not make them lesser children.

Ms. Omtokoh been greatly involved in several interfaith programs in Africa. She has organized local and international campaigns, fora and meetings that are centered towards children rights and wellbeing in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia.

Ms. Omtokoh first trained as a teacher- a field in which she received her first degree. She then proceeded to Centre International des Etudes Pedagogiques (Reunion Islands- France) where she attained her TCF Certification in the French Language. She further went to the United States International University, Kenya for a Master’s degree in International Relations.
