GNRC Africa celebrates the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children

November, 20th, 2010. GNRC Africa to celebrate the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children by organizing different events and happenings, to create awareness about the most important issues the organization is assisting at the global level.

Among the events:

15th-16th November 2010 - Preliminary workshops have been organized to reflect some of the key issues:
"Exclusive breast feeding”, as a major theme of the Day of Prayer and Action for Children. The event was attended by 15 religious leaders from Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar, 10 Community and Government leaders as well as 10 children.

20th November 2010 - Peace March to promote the "Exclusive breast feeding" theme. Among the targeted participants there are children and stakeholders. Children will carry different banners showing the importance of breast feeding.

20th November 2010 - Statement from 3 Religion Representatives to reflect the following issues:
Child protection, early child development, saving the lives of children and women, good nutrition for children. Targeted participants are 3000 primary school children, 60 patrons/matrons, religious leaders, representatives from different religions, UNICEF, Ministry of Education and Vocational training, Ministry of Gender, women and children and other partners in Children Agenda.

20th November 2010 - Presentations of children’s statement in the form of poetry, a manifestation to reflect on the Top Ten investments for Children including:
Investing in Saving the Lives of Children and Women, Good Nutrition, Safe Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, Early Childhood Development, Quality Education for all Children, Making Schools Safe, Preventing HIV and AIDS for Infants and Adolescent Girls, Reducing Teenage Pregnancy, Protecting Children from Violence, Abuse and Exploitation and investing in Children with Disabilities. Targeted participants are primary school children.

20th November 2010 - Observe one minute silent prayer at noon
A praying for all children in the world moment, with participants from religious leaders, children and other invited guests.
