The themes, program, and other key aspects of the Third Forum were determined at the recent meeting of the GNRC Third Forum Organizing Committee held July 12-13 in Geneva, Switzerland. The main theme of the Forum, which emphasizes the need for humility and cooperation among people of faith, will be:LEARNING TO SHAREValues, Action, Hope
The first meeting of the GNRC Third Forum Organizing Committee was held in Tokyo, Japan from March 17 to 20, 2007, and preparations for the Third Forum are now officially underway. The Third Forum will take place in Hiroshima, Japan from May 24 to 26, 2008, followed by an assembly for prayer in Fukuoka, Japan on May 28.
The first interreligious colloquium of the GNRC-Belgium for young people was held in Brussels from January 26 to 28, 2007. The meeting, organized by Mrs. Ana María Serrano, a member of the GNRC-Europe, brought together 40 participants from various religious communities to consider the theme of "Human Dignity" from a diverse range of perspectives. The participants, most of them aged between 15 and 18 years old, represented the Bahá'í, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities.
On the weekend of January 19-20, 2007, GNRC-Israel welcomed the participants of its youth group, who will be meeting regularly once every month for the next five months.
Since the GNRC established the Interfaith Council on Ethics Education for Children in May 2002, the Toolkit Working Group and Council Secretariat have been making steady progress on the development of a practical "toolkit" for use in a variety of religious, cultural and educational settings around the world.
