Led by the GNRC Secretary General, Dr. Mustafa Y. Ali and Director Interfaith Initiative to End Child Poverty, Rev. Fred Nyabera, GNRC held its quarterly regional meetings with its coordinators and contact persons in the month of April 2020. The four online meetings comprised members from Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.
COVID-19 has placed children at an increased risk of radicalization into violent extremism, and online sexual abuse and exploitation. Experts note that statistics on online child exploitation and abuse globally has steadily increased during the pandemic.
There is a Jewish story about a child who went to the synagogue to pray. He did not know the words of the traditional prayers, so he sat down in the back and started to sing the alphabet. After a few minutes, the adults of the synagogue asked him: “Why are you singing the alphabet?”

On 22nd April 2020, Arigatou International and its initiatives jointly hosted the live, "Interfaith Prayer with Children During the COVID-19 Pandemic." The solidarity prayer was led by faith leaders with active participation of children from seven different religious traditions including Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. Several partners and friends of the GNRC similarly participated in the prayer.
